CRYC July 4th Raft-Up in Charleston Harbor
From: Commodore Brian Hill
To: Members of the Cooper River Yacht Club
Date: June 30
Subject: The July 4th Raft-up to view fireworks and party in the harbor
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just a reminder of the exquisite fun times ahead for CRYC folks this holiday!
Reg will lead the way for the CRYC event this coming Friday evening, July 4th, the anniversary of the Birth of our Nation!
The event will be a raft-up to enjoy both the fireworks, emanating from the deck of the USS Lexington in Charleston Harbor, and the company of CRYC members!
Start time is more or less 6 PM and Reg adds the following rendezvous location:
Vanishing Point will be anchored at N32 46.165 W79 54.524, half way between Castle Pinckney and the white diamond on the rock pile. In front of the USS Yorktown will be right under the fireworks, not a place for our boats.
Staying overnight is, of course, optional but available. I will not be able to attend, alas. However, even without Brigit's and my bubbling presence I know you will have a time to remember in the history of our club! Bring your cameras. There are sure to be memorable photo ops!
Fair winds,
Commodore Brian
